Hi besties,
We are coming in hot this week (and not just because Dubai in June is doing what Dubai in June does 🥵🌡️) but we have two very exciting events coming up that we cannot wait to tell you about, a brilliant Local Lowdown, and a jam packed Wellness Wire!
First up - our Wellness Stroll is back, but we've had a glow up. We're taking it indoors this time (you're welcome) in partnership with LC, and we'll be walking Dubai Hills Mall on Thursday 11th June, 9–10:15am. Think great conversation, a relaxed pace, and a chance to win a gorgeous LC activewear set. All the connection, none of the sweating. RSVP HERE so we know to look out for you. 🤍
And then on Tuesday 16th June we have something a little different - a homeopathy morning with Wellth. Homeopathy is having a genuine TikTok moment right now - and for good reason. But rather than leaving you to scroll through conflicting takes at midnight, we wanted to get the actual experts in the room. Expect a wonderful morning of conversation, breakfast, and our favourite thing - community. Plus a free mini consult with Dr Yasir for each attendee, and free biohacking trials of all of Wellth’s incredible facilities. Spots are limited and on a first come, first served basis — grab yours HERE 👀
As always, this week's edition has some juicy wellness news: Peloton just discovered Pilates, functional cookies that actually taste good, and surprisingly good news for late diners. Let's get into it.
With love (and a great appreciation for AC),

📍Wellth - Ayurvedic Treatments
If you've been following us for a while, you'll know Wellth holds a very special place in our wellness hearts. It's one of those rare clinics that genuinely does it all - functional medicine, homeopathy, Chinese medicine, Ayurveda - and does all of it well. But this week, Katie and I went back for something we'd been meaning to try for a while: their Ayurvedic treatments.
And here's the thing that tells you everything about how seriously Wellth takes Ayurveda: they have an entire separate building dedicated to it. Not a room. Not a corner of a corridor. A whole building. That kind of intentionality is rare, and you feel it the moment you walk in. The space has a completely different energy; slower, more ceremonial, more considered. It sets the tone before a single drop of oil has been applied.
Ayurveda (which literally means the science of life) is one of the world's oldest healing systems, and it is rich. We're talking deeply specific herbal oils, ancient techniques, and treatments built around your individual dosha - the elemental force that governs your unique constitution and your susceptibility to certain conditions. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach. It's preventative, deeply personalised, and at its core it teaches you something quietly radical: to be patient and respectful with your body.
The doctor was wonderful - unhurried, thorough, genuinely interested in understanding your symptoms before tailoring your treatment specifically to you. Harriet tried Abhyanga, a traditional massage using warm herbal oil poultices to balance the doshas, enhance circulation and ease the body into deep relaxation. Katie tried two treatments: Kati Basti - where warm healing oil is held against the body using a dough ring to melt away tension and pain - and Udwartanam, a deep tissue massage using herbal powder that is as invigorating as it sounds.
We left as the most relaxed versions of ourselves we've been in a long time. And the post-treatment shower (where someone washes you with such quiet care it feels like being held like a baby again) is genuinely one of the most unexpectedly emotional wellness experiences either of us has had. Unusual, nurturing and completely beautiful.
The wellness bestie verdict: If you've never tried Ayurveda, Wellth is exactly where you want to start. Authentic, intentional and unlike anything else in Dubai - we are absolutely hooked and already planning our next visit.

Summer wellness season has officially arrived. The beach walks have moved indoors, the classes are getting earlier, and suddenly we're all making decisions based on the quality of a venue's air conditioning.
This week's edit brings together wellness strolls, sound baths, longevity conversations, flower arranging, reformer Pilates and a city-wide Wellness Week taking over ICD Brookfield Place. Plenty of good reasons to leave the house this week.

INDUSTRY TRENDS AND NEWS
😴 The Sleep Tech Race Just Got More Personal
Meet SOND - the sleep tech company that just emerged from stealth with $7M and a very compelling product. Their Dreambuds measure 12 physiological signals while you sleep - HRV, breathing depth, heart-lung synchrony and more - with an AI coach generating real-time audio programmes of breathing exercises, soundscapes and binaural beats that learn what actually works for you over time. Co-founded by Bose's former head of sleep, this isn't a wellness gadget - it's serious sleep engineering. And it's not alone in the space, with several others exploring EEG earbuds and neurostimulation headphones.
Punchline: Sleep tech is moving fast - from passive tracking to active, personalised intervention. The era of your bedtime routine being optimised in real time is very much here. 😴

🧘♀️ Peloton Just Got on the Reformer
Peloton has acquired Skōp - a smart Pilates reformer tracking weight distribution, movement tempo, spring resistance and form in real time - and it feels like a very deliberate pivot. With mat Pilates engagement up 48% year on year and newer hardware launches failing to land, Peloton is betting on one of the world's fastest-growing fitness modalities to turn things around. It's entering a crowded space - iFIT, Dua Lipa's Frame Fitness and Technogym are all already there - but with Peloton's content library and commercial reach behind it, this one's worth watching.
Our Take: The big players are coming for your reformer. The fact that a company of Peloton's size is doubling down on Pilates as a longevity and strength tool says everything about where the category is heading. 🧘♀️

🇬🇧 London's Most Aspirational Wellness Club Just Levelled Up
If you're heading back to London this summer, add this to the list. The Method just launched its flagship Club in Notting Hill - three floors of immersive luxury wellness designed with circadian rhythms in mind, curved walls adorned with neon works from Tracey Emin and James Turrell, and ten class styles from rhythm cardio dance to Reformer Pilates, all capped at 16 people. In the basement, a spa called the Lab offers bespoke treatments from seriously credentialed practitioners - Brazilian lymphatic drainage, TCM-inspired acupuncture, contrast therapy coming soon. The café matches your smoothie to your workout. Membership starts at £5,000 a year.
Our Take: Beautiful spaces, considered details, community energy and treatments that actually mean something. This is exactly the direction premium wellness is heading - and London is very much leading the charge. UK besties, you're welcome. 🤍

🌿 A Dubai Brand Just Opened One of India's Most Ambitious Wellness Retreats
Dubai-based KEF Hospitality has just opened Tulåh Clinical Wellness in northern Kerala - a 30-acre retreat spanning forests and medicinal gardens with 65 suites and a genuinely impressive clinical offering. Biomarker analysis, microbiome testing, cardiovascular screening and access to 200+ specialists via a hospital partnership, all woven together with Ayurveda, nutrition and psychology. The centrepiece is The Sonorium - the world's largest sound healing dome. Add hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cryotherapy, Panchakarma and the world's first Ayurvedic Vichy bed and this is serious wellness, not just a pretty retreat.
Our Take: Kerala has long been one of the UAE's favourite wellness destinations - and with a Dubai brand planting its flag there in such a considered way, this feels like a trip worth planning. Bucket list firmly updated. 🌿

🌸 Your Perfume Just Became a Wellness Product
Bella Hadid's functional fragrance brand 'Ôrəbella just secured a Series A to scale - and it's landing at exactly the right moment. Their bi-phase perfumes combine alcohol-free essential oil blends with skincare ingredients like jojoba and shea, merging beauty and sensory wellness into one ritual. Already in 1,500 Ulta Beauty doors and holding the number one fragrance position at Ulta Beauty Middle East, they're now expanding further across the region and into the UK with a former L'Oréal exec at the helm. The functional fragrance market is worth $12B and growing fast, with brands layering in SPF, healing crystals and mood-supporting properties alongside the scent itself.
Punchline: We’ve both been largely fragrance-free for a while now but ngl we genuinely miss perfume. So a scent that's alcohol-free, doubles as a skin treatment and supports your wellbeing? This might just be our way back in. Not everything needs optimising - but this one we'll allow. 🌸

🔮 TREND TO WATCH
🍪 Functional Snacks Are Finally Getting Delicious
For a long time, "functional snack" was code for "tastes like cardboard but good for you." That era appears to be ending. Fields Good - founded by the daughter of Mrs. Fields cookie creator Debbi Fields - just launched with $1.8M in pre-seed funding, and the pitch is simple: proper cookies that actually do something. Creatine and citicoline for focus, L-theanine for sleep, whey and fibre for protein - all wrapped in genuinely indulgent, nostalgic cookie bases. Flavour first, function second. It's part of a much bigger shift in functional snacking, where the bet is that wellness consumers no longer want to choose between feeling good and enjoying their food.
Our Take: This is the wellness trend we've been waiting for. The idea that healthy and delicious are mutually exclusive is one we're very ready to leave behind. Functional snacks are growing up. We are here for every bite. 🍪

🔬 RESEARCH SPOTLIGHT
🌙 Good News for Late Diners - With a Catch
If you've been stressing about eating too close to bedtime, this one might bring some relief. A new study suggests that eating 2.5 hours before bed - rather than the often-recommended 4.5 hours - doesn't significantly harm sleep quality. Before you celebrate with a midnight snack though, context matters. This wasn't a comparison of eating dinner vs. raiding the fridge at midnight. It was a fairly narrow window comparison, and the real takeaway is more nuanced: for most people, it's the what and how much that disrupts sleep, not just the timing.
Our Thoughts: The sleep-nutrition relationship is one of the most personal in wellness - and blanket rules rarely hold for everyone. This research suggests a little more flexibility around dinner timing might be warranted, which honestly feels like a win. That said, a heavy meal close to bed is still a heavy meal. The basics haven't changed - just the anxiety around the clock. 🌙
