Hi besties,
What a week. We rounded it off with our Wellness Stroll at Dubai Hills Mall - great steps, even greater women, and one very lucky winner walking away with a gorgeous LC activewear set. 🎉 And the good news doesn't stop there - LC have gifted every single one of you 20% off their entire collection until 30th June. Use code LCXTWD at checkout. You're welcome. 🛍️
Now, we couldn't write this week's intro without addressing the elephant in the room - or rather, the wine glass. Steven Bartlett's comment about three glasses of wine "ruining his life" broke the internet this week, and the wellness world had a lot of feelings about it. Here's ours: in his world, he's completely right. Performance and optimisation are his values - and three glasses of wine genuinely don't align with that. We respect it. But wellness is deeply personal, and his blueprint isn't necessarily everyone's blueprint. Some of our best healing has happened over a bottle of rosé and a very honest conversation. Know what matters to you. Do that. Stay in your lane. 🙌
Which leads us perfectly to one of our favourite stories this week - Victor Wembanyama turning down millions in soda deals because he doesn't want to "kill the kids." Different context, same principle. Values led living, whether you're an NBA superstar or just trying to make good choices for yourself and your family - it's the same thread running through everything.
This week's edition has all of that energy and more - ageing becoming programmable (Death Becomes Her vibes, anyone?), creatine finally getting the defence it deserves, and a cooling device we desperately need for the school run. Let's get into it.
With love (and a very good discount code),

📍The Lab Studios, Studio City
As someone who lives in Arabian Ranches, this opening feels particularly exciting.
For years, The Lab has built a loyal following in Downtown, but their new Studio City location finally brings their signature training concepts a little closer to home for those of us on this side of Dubai.

The new space is home to three concepts - STRENGTH, SYCLE and SCULPT - all built around one philosophy: purposeful, progressive training.
I headed down to try SCULPT, their reformer Pilates class, and it did not disappoint.
The studio itself is bright, spacious and beautifully designed, with just 10 reformer beds creating a more intimate feel than many of Dubai’s larger Pilates studios. From the moment I walked in, it felt polished, welcoming and incredibly well thought out.
The class was tough - in the best possible way.
What I loved most was how intentional the programming felt. Every exercise seemed to build on the one before it, creating that slow, controlled muscle fatigue Pilates lovers are always chasing. There was no rushing through movements or throwing exercises together for the sake of variety. Everything felt purposeful.
And my glutes definitely knew about it the next day.
Unlike many reformer classes, SCULPT follows a structured weekly split, meaning each day focuses on a different area of the body. It’s a simple concept, but one that allows members to train with more intention and build strength progressively over time.
While I only experienced SCULPT this visit, I’m already curious to go back and try both STRENGTH and SYCLE. If the quality of coaching and programming is anything like the reformer class, I can see why The Lab has built such a loyal community.
The wellness bestie verdict:
A brilliant addition to Studio City and great news for anyone living in Arabian Ranches, Victory Heights, Motor City and the surrounding communities. Challenging classes, thoughtful programming and a studio you’ll actually look forward to returning to.
Founder’s Offer: The Lab is currently offering a one-month unlimited membership for AED 900 (usually AED 1,950), giving access to STRENGTH, SYCLE and SCULPT at the new Studio City location.

If your ideal week includes yoga, horses, yachts and asking a homeopath all the questions you’ve secretly been Googling, you’re in luck.
This week’s edit is packed with movement, community and a few experiences that are a little different from the usual wellness line-up. As always, we’ve done the scrolling so you don’t have to.

INDUSTRY TRENDS AND NEWS
🧬 Scientists Are Literally Reversing Aging - and We Have Feelings About This
Longevity biotech firm NewLimit just raised $435M at a $3.1B valuation after reporting actual age reversal in human liver cells. Founded by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, the company is developing epigenetic reprogramming therapies (basically resetting cells back to a younger biological state) with human trials planned for next year. If it works, the implications go way beyond aesthetics: we're talking about addressing metabolic dysfunction, cardiovascular disease and immune decline at the source, by reprogramming aging biology rather than treating individual conditions.
Our Take: The longevity conversation has moved a long way from cold plunges and supplements. This is clinical, serious, and - depending on your perspective - either thrilling or mildly terrifying. Anyone remember Death Becomes Her? We're living it. We're just really hoping nobody's paint starts peeling. 🧬

🌿 Homeopathy Is Having a Moment - and We're Here for the Conversation
Homeopathy is dividing the internet again this week - most recently with Indian Actress Anushka Sharma being called out by a prominent doctor for promoting it as "witchcraft." And look, we get it. The debate is loud, the opinions are strong, and the science is genuinely contested. But here's our honest take: we have both personally had positive experiences with homeopathy. However we’re not here to tell you what to think - we're here to have the conversation properly, with an actual expert in the room.
Wellness Bestie Thoughts: This is exactly why we're hosting a morning with Dr Yasir at Wellth on Tuesday 16th June. Come with your questions, your scepticism, your curiosity - all welcome. Every attendee gets a free mini consult with Dr Yasir, plus a complimentary session of either HBOT or IV laser therapy to redeem at Wellth afterwards.Spots are limited and going fast.

💧 Your Sweat Is Trying to Tell You Something
Epicore Biosystems just launched a reusable arm-worn biosensor that analyses your sweat in real time - translating perspiration into personalised hydration guidance and a daily readiness score. Previously known for its Gatorade partnership and sweat-sensing patches, the company is now targeting athletes, frontline workers and everyday wellness seekers with wearable tech that turns one of the body's most overlooked signals into genuinely actionable data. Think of it as your body's hydration dashboard - worn on your arm, updated continuously.
Our Take:In Dubai, where dehydration is a very real daily consideration — particularly for the construction workers who build this city in 45-degree heat — this feels like it matters beyond the wellness space. We track sleep, steps and HRV. Real-time hydration monitoring for the people who need it most? That's a technology we'd love to see rolled out here. 💧

🧊 Therabody Just Made Cooling Down a Handheld Experience
Therabody - the brand that put recovery massage guns on everyone's christmas list - just launched CryoTherm Palm, a handheld thermoregulation device designed to lower core body temperature between sets, sprints and periods of exertion. Tested on D1 athletes and elite soccer players, it improved training volume, sprint performance and grip strength. It's dual-sided too, delivering heat for contrast therapy as well. It's already been used by England's national football team in training camps ahead of the World Cup - so the timing couldn't be more perfect. Meanwhile Therabody is quietly expanding into an entirely new lane - red light wraps, compression boots, eye massagers and LED face masks. The recovery brand is becoming a full wellness ecosystem.
Our Take: England's national team has one for the World Cup. We want one for the school run. Priorities. 🥵

🔮 TREND TO WATCH
🏀 Athletes Are Finally Putting Their Values First
Victor Wembanyama - the NBA's most exciting young star - has reportedly turned down multimillion-dollar soda deals, with his agent telling The Athletic: "Victor will never sell soda. Because he doesn't want to kill the kids." He also refuses to sit in front of Gatorade bottles at press conferences. It's giving Cristiano Ronaldo moving the Coca-Cola bottles at Euro 2021 - which wiped $4B off the company's market cap. But this is bigger than a gesture. Athletes are increasingly investing in brands that reflect how they actually live - Wembanyama in hydration startup Barcode, Tom Brady in NOBULL, Serena Williams backing women's health companies through her venture firm.
Our Take: We talk a lot about values-led living in this community. It's quietly radical when someone with that kind of platform and those kinds of financial incentives does the same. 🙌

💪 Creatine Is Not Bad For Your Kidneys - Let's Clear This Up Once & For All
A new review of 684 randomised controlled trials involving over 12,800 participants has put one of wellness's most persistent myths firmly to rest. Creatine's side effects are virtually nonexistent - with placebo groups reporting similar rates of issues. The kidney concern stems from creatine raising serum creatinine on lab tests, which can look alarming. But a separate 2026 systematic review confirmed that actual kidney health markers remain completely unaffected. The kidneys themselves are fine. Creatine remains one of the safest, most studied and most evidence-backed supplements available - with benefits spanning strength, muscle mass, recovery, cognitive performance and healthy ageing.
Our Thoughts: If your doctor has ever raised an eyebrow at your creatine use - bookmark this one. The science is about as clear as it gets. 💪
